Where: Kumu Kahua Theatre, 46 Merchant Street (on the corner of Bethel Street)
When: Saturday, March 17, 6-9pm and Sunday, March 18, 6-9pm

Rehearsal may begin as early as Monday, April 2.
Performances: May 31-July 1, possibility of a one-week extension

About the play.

Director Wil Kahele is seeking 11 actors, five men and six women.

Roles:
Michael Kawaipono Mahekona, Hawaiian subsistence fisherman
Alika Kealoha, Michael’s cousin, Tour Manager for the Four Winds Riviera Resort
Lisa Kealoha, haole woman married to Alika
Ghost of George Mahekona, Michael’s dead brother,
Ghost of Tutu Kane, Michael’s grand uncle
Anita Sanchez, prison nurse
Carolyn ‘Aukai, secretary of ‘Ai Pohaku
Lahela Mau, treasurer of ‘Ai Pohaku
Bully Mack, vice president of ‘Ai Pohaku
Wainani Carson, president of ‘Ai Pohaku
Raynell Hashimoto, local television reporter

Auditioners should arrive early on either day and stay for the whole time. Auditions consist of readings from the play, group improvisation, and simple movement work.

Please read the play before the auditions. Copies of the play are available in advance for loan with a $10 cash deposit at Kumu Kahua Theatre.
